Ash Crossland, Clinical Manager from United KingdomHi we are Ash and Lynn Crossland and we will be starting a new life in New Zealand thanks in the main to Prue and Accent. Like many others, we first met Prue at the Emigration event at Sandown Park in London. It was the first stand, and the first face in the New Zealand section. We were totally taken aback by the enthusiasm and the ‘can do’ attitude.
To be frank, we thought it was too good to be true. Someone in New Zealand who would assist us in finding a job, provide support and constant feedback and the only cost being the need to write a short piece on how smoothly it all went.
The signing up was easy, and the process so simple and logical. After the initial meeting and a couple of calls, Lynn and I took the train back to London to New Zealand House for a more in depth discussion about what we both wanted from a move to New Zealand and what we could offer. Then there was the video interview, its not easy trying to sell yourself to employers you have not met yet. But the idea of someone being physically in New Zealand speaking directly with HR managers who has a video of you sounded ideal.
Once I started getting interviews, Prue was there every step of the way with advice and information that made the conference calls somehow less daunting. I could not get over the enthusiasm when I finally got the job offer. In the end it all seemed too easy. But I am sure there was a lot of background effort involved.
We are now 4 days away from the flight over, everybody is being very helpful especially my future employers. The family are very excited about the prospect of moving. Sure we are bound to have forgotten something important, but the thought of moving to Nelson and actually making it happen is driving us all forward.
