Coming to New Zealand! - Charlotte Woolston Age 7When Mummy and Daddy said we were leaving England I had mixed feelings really. I felt sad, happy, nervous and excited. I knew that my friends would have to stay in England, but I would make new friends in New Zealand. I also knew that I would have to try new things (and lots of new foods) that I did not have in England! On the way down to New Zealand we had to sleep on the aeroplane! Just imagine having to stay on a plane for 24 hours. That is a long time. To keep myself occupied I watched a film, had lovely things to eat and drink, the ladies on the plane gave me an activity bag, I also had a nap. My favourite part was meeting Daddy’s boss, Michael, and his wife Lynn, when they met us at the airport. They have looked after us very well and it is like having another set of Grandparents! We looked at schools and found a school that is perfect and it suits me quite well. There is one strange thing about school though; you have to take your shoes off at the door!
Now I don’t think that coming here was such a bad and scary idea! Now I’m happy.
