Northland is New Zealand’s only sub-tropical region; New Zealanders sometimes refer to it as the ‘Winterless North’ because of its mild climate all throughout the year. Northland’s long, narrow shape means you are nowhere further than 50 kilometres from the ocean.

Rich in history and authentic Māori culture, you will enjoy legendary experiences, traditional performances, and sacred and significant places like the Treaty of Waitangi grounds. You can also explore many farmer’s markets with specialty products made from local produce as Northland is the primary food producing region in New Zealand.

Northland has a population of 180,000. Te Whatu Ora - Health New Zealand Te Tai Tokerau (formerly Northland District Health Board) provides an extensive range of acute and elective services through their four public hospitals along with a significant network of community-based outpatient and mental health services. Hospital facilities include a private hospital in Whangarei.

Northland is surrounded by water and stunning scenery, ancient forests, and natural wonders. Known for its aquatic playground, you can enjoy world class fishing and sailing in the area. The land, sea and air of the outdoors lifestyle is hard to beat. The top of Northland is famous for beaches and in particular the longest beach in New Zealand, called the 'Ninety Mile Beach'.

Relax and have fun in the sun when not at work! Northland is a great place to live!
